For seniors

Who can get help from Summit Pathways?

Seniors age 55 and older (or younger adults facing a disability or health change) who live in, or are moving within, the Treasure Valley. That includes Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle, Star, Kuna, and the towns around them. Family members can reach out for a parent.

What does a move cost?

Every move gets a free visit and a custom quote, booked in 4 to 8 hour service blocks. We use a sliding scale: seniors who qualify can get full assistance at no cost, or a shared cost based on income. Families who can pay the full quote help fund moves for neighbors who can’t.

How fast can you help?

We aim to call you back within one business day. When a move is urgent, like a hospital discharge or a sudden opening in assisted living, tell us and we’ll do our best to move quickly.

What is the free trash out?

After the move, our team clears out whatever is left over in the home, at no cost to you. It is done within two hours. Hazardous materials are not included.

Can I ask for help for my mom or dad?

Yes. Many requests come from adult children, sometimes from out of state. We’ll keep you in the loop with calls, photos, and a video call on moving day if you like.

Cost & qualifying

Do I have to prove my income?

We keep it simple. At the free visit we’ll ask about household income and savings. For full assistance we may ask to see one document, like a benefits letter or a tax return. We keep it private.

Is there a waitlist?

Sometimes. Assistance depends on the gifts we’ve raised. If we can’t help right away, we’ll tell you plainly, offer a spot on our list, and point you to other help.

Will I be asked to donate?

Never. Families we help are never asked to give. Help is never tied to a donation.

I’m under 55. Can you still help?

Our main focus is seniors 55+. Adults with a disability or a serious health change may also qualify. Call us and we’ll talk it through.

For families & adult children

I live out of state. Can you still help my mom?

Yes. We can be your hands here. We’ll call you after the visit, send photos as we go, and set up a video call on moving day so you can see her new home come together.

My dad doesn’t want to move. What should I do?

Go slowly, listen more than you talk, and focus on what he gains: safety, company, less upkeep. We’re happy to visit and answer his questions directly, with no pressure.

Can you work with the assisted living staff?

Yes, every time. We coordinate move in dates, elevator times, room layout, and any rules with community staff.

What happens to the things that don’t come along?

We help sort what goes to family, what gets donated to local charities, and what can be sold. Keepsakes for family in the Valley can be delivered.

Who pays if my parent qualifies for help?

If your parent qualifies for full assistance, the foundation covers the move through gifts from donors and partners. With a shared cost, your parent pays only their written share.

For donors

Is my gift tax deductible?

Yes. Summit Pathways Foundation, Inc. is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) public charity, EIN 33 2628196. Gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, and you’ll get an email receipt right away.

Can I change or cancel a monthly gift?

Any time, in a minute. Use the link in your receipt email, or call or email us and we’ll do it for you.

Where does my money go?

To moves: crews, trucks, fuel, and supplies for seniors who can’t pay the full cost. Our goal is that at least 80 cents of every dollar goes straight to moving help. We’ll publish the real numbers every year.

Can I give by check?

Yes. Make checks payable to Summit Pathways Foundation, Inc. and mail them to 11484 W Allegro St, Nampa, ID 83651.

Do you share or sell donor information?

Never. We don’t sell, rent, or trade your name or contact details.

For volunteers

Do I need moving experience?

No. Every volunteer gets a short orientation, and each crew has an experienced lead from Pathways or Summit Solutions.

How often do I have to volunteer?

As often as you like. Most people pick up one shift a month. There’s no minimum.

Why a background check?

Our volunteers go into seniors’ homes, so we check every in home volunteer. It’s free to you and kept private.

For partners

How do senior communities refer a resident?

Use the referral form on our Partners page or call us. We contact the family within one business day and keep your team posted, with the family’s OK.
